Food 10/10 Service 10/10 Ambiance pleasant Highly recommended breakfast eatery in the heart of my community
Omg! This food is it!! I'm from Atlanta and we do brunch and all that but THIS!! Listen I almost proposed to the cook!! I love the neighborhood diner feel to it! Everyone from the host at the door to the young man who brought my tea to the young lady who took my order was amazing! I'm already trying to figure out how to get back to LA just to eat here and I ain't left yet !
Wow the service here was fantastic. They are so attentive and make sure that you are happy with their food. I felt like I was at home on how friendly everyone was with my family. I had a fantastic breakfast, but almost stayed for lunch as I began to see and smell a few sandwich and burger dishes.
This place is amazing!!! The service is super friendly and attentive to details. Their syrup was warmed which I noticed right away. Ambiance is great and comforting and highly recommend. I will try their waffles my next visit!
Honestly, this is the kind of place that makes you wish for a sixth star. Or a plus. Or something. This place is a neighborhood institution for good reason. My wife and I came to The Spoon for Saturday breakfast. We got there around 9:30. Parking was super easy. We checked in on the waitlist and were seated about 5 minutes later. I got the Big Spoon breakfast with pancakes, bacon (well done), eggs over easy and grits. Everything was outstanding. And the coffee was equally excellent. My wife ordered the Little Spoon breakfast with French Toast, bacon and scrambled eggs. She gave me a bite of her French Toast and not gonna lie, she won the ordering contest. My pancakes were great, but that was the best French Toast I have ever eaten. Beyond the food, however, the vibes were impeccable. From the young man who checked us in, to the gentleman who brought our drinks, to our lovely waitress, everyone made us feel like welcomed guests. Great food, great service, and reasonable prices. Give it a shot. You won't be sorry.
My new favorite place for classic down home breakfast/brunch. I knew it was real love when I spotted the seasoned salt on the table. Service with all smiles. Seriously, the entire staff is nice. Even the security greets you with a smile. Food is consistent and appreciate the appropriate prices! They will make adjustments or customize your order so you are satisfied! And I have been 3/3 times so far. The ambiance is so cute, old school feel of the counter diner with booths. It is an older establishment but very clean place. Leave your bougie at home. No reservations, But you can join the Yelp waitlist. There is a free lot and plenty of free street parking. THE FOOD: Breakfast burro - hella big and filling. My niece only finished half. Fish and grits - first off, this is a southern thing so I was super excited to see it on the menu. And they did not disappoint. I do prefer the red snapper, but the catfish was not bad. Chicken and waffles - nothing out of the ordinary, if you're craving it you'll be satisfied but nothing to get excited about. But the warm syrup tho! Shrimp and grits - now I don't know WHO said it was okay to put brown gravy on grits , but baby, I was THOROUGHLY surprised at how good it was. LOADED with shrimp and cheese. I couldn't finish it. French Toast - Simple and good. But the warm syrup tho! Mac and cheese - solid Sunrise drink is my fave.
Mouthwatering- Delicious! So many options! Yams were amazing- could have eating so much more so will definitely go back- Great service!
My cousin and I went to the Serving Spoon on Saturday. There was a wait but we didn't mind. Once we were in, the staff was so accommodating and friendly! Once we were seated, I felt like we were about to eat at a relatives house. The pictures on the walls and the intimate space made the restaurant feel familial in a good way. Our servers were on top of everything and food came out fast and hot! Salmon croquettes were tasty. I also had greens, candied yams, and French toast with a mimosa. The greens were a bit on the salty side not too bad. Everything else was delicious! Next time, I'll try the shrimp and grits.
